I thought I knew the murderer from early on, but I was close with no cigar. And, even when I was fairly certain about the murderers identify, I became caught up in the procedural aspects of searching for the murderer and lost sight of the ball, so to /5. Second Chair is the only book I have read in this series, I will be reading the first two as well as a lot more of William Manchee's books. This book was great, a fast paced mystery/thriller I really enjoyed Second Chair with its twists and turns, it keeps you guessing until the end. I highly recommend this wonderful book/5(55). THE SECOND CHAIR is by far Lescroart's best work. While I loved FIRST LAW, THE OATH, and THE HEARING, this one is my all-time favorite. Well-drawn characters, a plot with just the right amount of twists and turns, and an excellent writing style make this one of the most enjoyable reads you'll come across for this genre.5/5(5).
